dsl doesn’t want to “sync up”

My dsl connection has tortured the fuck out of me all day today. I spent at least two hours on the phone with them this morning. They just don’t comprehend the phrase “I’ve already done that a thousand times”. At any rate, if they don’t straighten it out with tomorrow’s service call, Comcast here I come. I as certain as I can be without knowing a freaking thing about dsl that the problem lies somwhere between the modem and the pole. I’ve eliminated every other possibility, at least to my way of thinking. So if they don’t want to pull a new wire from the phone jack to the connection outside the house, and another from there to the pole, I’m not going to be convinced that the problem lies with my shit.

God damn. Anyway, having had to crawl around and plug and unplug all that stuff at the behest of the nitwit techs that work for ATT has not agreed with my back. It’s not too bad, but it was trying to get cranked up on me pre-nap. Then it took me close to an hour to undo all the damage done by trying to convince the dickheads that the problem really did lie on their end. Anyway, it’s completely fucked now. Intermittent every few minutes. I’ve had enough.

Man let me tell you, your last 2 post are right on my wavelength. I can not stand calling and dealing with tech support. “Ok just unplug this, have you done it yet?” No I say, first I have to move all of my shit out of the way to get to the damn thing. Aggggghhhhhhhhh. I think I could do that job, if the description of it is “bug the shit out of anyone who calls, and really piss them off.”

Peace and serenity in this crazy life.

I hate tech support. Sometimes they are totally useless. I hope you got the problem fixed.

If you're interested in reading a fairly detailed account of addiction and depression, Cracked Head Memoirs might be for you. It basically tells how it was and what happened. Writing it helped me go from active addiction to recovery yet again.
